In the long turbulent annals of human history, perhaps one of the not too unimportant moments was the late 1960's publication of Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed, in which Nader (whatever became of him?) postulated the thesis that the Corvair was not particularly designed with any discernible overt interest in protecting the human body from the gory, bloody depictions frequently seen on local news in which the resultant effects of automobile (and other motor carrier) collisions have wreaked utter and complete havoc upon the sensibilities of viewers in a true and complete "shock the conscience" sensory experience.

Notwithstanding that fact, however, the issue of road safety continues to be ignored by all possible participants, perpetrators, perjurors and alleged conspirators and co-conspirators (be they indicted or unindicted) that are in any way, shape or manner, putatively or prospectively,
involved in the ongoing and developing criminal investigation into the leaked outing, for purely political purposes, of a covert CIA operative, in order to sleazily slime her husband with deliberate and malicious intent to cover-up or stonewall the promulgation of the documented pre-war fixing of intelligence and facts around the policy of pursuing an aggressive and pre-emptive war which has resulted in death-after-death, injury-after-injury, assassination-after-assassination, maiming-after-maiming, kidnapping-after-kidnapping and beheading-after-beheading on a (more or less) day-after-day and case-by-case basis.
So, like, what's the deal with people who ride their brakes?? Are they, perhaps, deliberately trying to confuse the drivers behind them so that they don't truly know when to slow down because of the "boy who cried wolf" factor?? Don't they realize that this wears the brake shoes thin and makes replacement a more frequent recurrence? Isn't it a teensy weensy possibility that this might result in them having to pay more money, more often for car repairs?
Nonetheless, it appears quite reasonable an allegation that neither Karl Rove, the evil puppetmaster whose secret hero was Benedict Arnold, Judy Miller, the neo-con shill who is at one moment a Chinese Gordon (when she goes rogue)and another a William Randolph Hearst (when she goes to jail) nor Robert Novak, the snitch, squealer and possible stoolie, who gets his jollies by outing undercover CIA operatives in times of war and then concocting lame defenses which even the members of the vaunted Who's Who Society wouldn't dare venture, have been paying no attention whatsoever to the ongoing problem of road safety.
It has been often stated that 55,000 American soldiers died in the Vietnam War but that many more die on the American roads each year. (Aside, is that actually true??!!!) Why will Rove/Miller/Novak not address this crucial and vital issue??
